About the Ministry
About Christian
Hi, I'm Christian. Only partly a play on words with the fact I am a Christian and my name is Christian. But no, seriously, oh boy is there a story to tell!
I was born in June of 1998 to Jerome and Belinda, parents divorced when I was young enough I do not remember. I was born and raised in Indianapolis.
For a while after the divorce, my dad, brother and I lived with my grandmother for some number of years. Until dad found someone (of whom he has been married to her for like what seems half a century (just kidding, they are not that old yet 😉 ))
Let's see... Just as like everyone else, I had quite a tough high school career, to the point I had dropped out for a while but still somehow by the grace of God, managed to still graduate on time.
I got my first job at 18, it only lasted six months because I had gotten involved with the wrong crowd and doing things I should not have been doing.
Correct, at this point in life, I was not a believer, an atheist in regard to that matter. Did you know it takes more faith to be an atheist than it does to believe in Christ Jesus? Anyhow…
While involved with that wrong crowd, I got into smoking weed, which would have kept me for the next 7 ish something years, I tried drinking but never really cared for that. I have tried coke just once, as an 18 year old, that was definitely a one and done thing.
Oh yea, and in case you were wondering, my mom was probably my first exposure to things like the drinking and drugs and such, the guy she was and still is involved with, she became addicted to the use and abuse. (Unfortunately, it is the abuse you’re thinking of too, I have seen things that no adolescent should ever witness. But by the time I was 15, the relationship between my mother and I was so severed, that once there was the opportunity to walk away from that relationship, I took it. I often say that she walked out of my life, but honestly, I think it was me who walked out.
Hmmm… let’s see, when I was 18 or 19, I moved to Lafayette just after I graduated high school. I attended Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis. Class of 2017. Whoot Whoot!
My next job, which I would hold for just more than five years, I was at Walmart. There I met one woman who I had lasted 3 years with her before I had an affair. Things happened with her, and I was introduced to another woman who just a year later would give me my son. Although cheating is not exactly ideal… I did receive the best blessing out of that than I could ever ask for.
We were I believe together for a year when she got pregnant, then just about a year later I think, we separated. I might be wrong on that timeline, but not 100% sure.
In the 6 ish months just before we split up though, I had attempted suicide. But when I was almost mission successful, I couldn’t get myself to finish the job.
Sometime later, a friend of mine referred me to driving for Amazon. It was an okay job, I suppose, I mean it did pay the bills so there is that. But I was there for about a year or so and just before I left driving, I had begun to deliver to a new location, and the customer had a billboard sign in their front yard with a bible verse on it. The first couple times I didn’t care that much for it. If anything, I was thinking “Jesus freaks, ain’t no way.”
But then comes that day.
I delivered to them for the final time. There was a verse on the sign this time, I don’t remember chapter or verse, but pretty sure it was from the book of John. I tried googling it, but of course, Google was no help like at all.
I want to say about 3 or so weeks later, I am back working for Walmart, but a different store. And there, I met a man who introduced me to Jesus.
Then the rest of my life change drastically from that point on.
That is at least the beginning of my story, the rest of it is shared through the content I post and or in the Speechless Grace section just below this sentence.
About Speechless Grace
Speechless Grace originated as Word for Thought in August of 2025.
I had started writing devotionals. With my first being the Parable of the Lost Sheep.
The ministry quickly evolved from just written devotionals, to audio messages posted to YouTube because of encouragement from my Pastor to pursue this.
My first audio message came out, things got a little noisy. Message two comes out, life got hectic but by the time the third came out, everything became complete chaos.
I suppose you could say, when the water got hot, I dropped it.
I ended up filing chapter 7 for mistakes I made before I came to Christ and a few other things were going on and thinking it would be the responsible thing to do, I had taken a break from the ministry in order to take care of other priorities. Satan took advantage of that.
I stopped producing, that was me walking away. I stopped writing, that was me running away. Just like Jonah, the last thing you do when God has placed a call on your life, is run. Exactly what I had done.
There was even opportunities to do other stuff, not so good stuff, which I will not discuss here.
But thank God for fellowship and community! Spending time with other believers, one day they noticed that something about me was off...
So after much praying over and with me, and bringing me back to the reminder of who we are in Christ, I was brought back to my calling as a writer.
But it does not stop there. I got back to writing, but did not want to do it under Word for Thought. Because that title just sounded too noisy if I can put it that way. Instead, I wanted to do something like with "horizon" or "sunrise" or something like that in the title. Because horizon and sunrise, its a new beginning. So I prayed.
It was a Sunday morning, on my way to Church a song came on by Steven Curtis Chapman. Called: "Speechless" and once I heard that song I am pretty sure it is one of my favorites right now. But half way through, I am thinking, "We are sometimes speechless as how graceful our God is." Thus, Speechless Grace came to mind.
But I still was not where I wanted to be in order write. Things still kept happening. Things will keep happening because trials and tribulations await us to strengthen our faith.
Eventually, I join a ministry class called "School of Kingdom Ministry" or "SoKM". Which I have encountered God in many ways in that.
I will share the different ways I have encountered God but not here. Instead, it will be done through the messages that I get the permission from God to share.
So go ahead, grab yourself a cup of coffee, tea, water whatever you prefer and shall we dive in?
